The person behind the practice, and why I do this work.
I spent my career understanding how people interact with technology. I worked on gov.uk, on NHS systems, on digital systems used by millions of people. My speciality was in Human Centred Design, finding where interfaces break people.
By 2024 I was watching my profession dissolve. Work I had spent decades getting good at was being done by a machine, and the recruiters who called did not understand what it was they were looking for. Underneath the practical crisis there were harder questions. Who am I without this work? What was it for?
I trained in psychosynthesis at the Institute of Psychosynthesis in London and completed my MA in 2026. My dissertation research focused on this very topic in depth and breadth. Psychosynthesis treats a crisis not as a breakdown but as something trying to happen. My research became a framework for exactly this, for men whose work is being taken by automation. I wrote it because I needed it. Now I offer it to other people.
I work with men facing technology and AI-driven job instability, midlife identity shifts, and the transitions that surface deeper questions underneath. I also see clients bringing anything else. Anxiety, low mood, grief, stress, the ordinary difficult things.
But if you are here because the work is disappearing, or because you are awake at four in the morning wondering who you are without your job, then I know that ground. I have walked on it.
Alongside one to one work I write about what is happening to work, to men, and to the idea that a career can carry a life. Organisations are starting to face the human side of automation and do not always know what to do with it. If that is where you are, get in touch.
